"Dear Friend.
I have just received your letter of the 7th Inst.--
In which you express much pleasure in receiving one from me, a
being my first--with pleasure I have now been reading one which if
I remember rightly, is the first letter I ever received from you--
accept my humble thanks for your letter and kind attention to the
one from me--allow me to ask a continuance of your letters, and fail
not to write every convenient opportunity, and rest assured dear
cousin, that it will be very pleasing to me--I promise on my part
to be no more quilty as it seens you think I have been--But will
endeavor to make satisfastory returns--
The death of your honored Grand Mother must indeed be afflicting to you all, living as she always has, at your home, I believe
must increase your affliction.
-----Your relations here are all well.
Augustus has this moment gone from here, tells me they have
heard nothing of Belizur, since he left here--
Your apology through me to H. M. is not as well received as a
direct letter would be, I presume--
Give my love to my brother tell him a letter from him would be
agreeable, and a visit from yourself and him, would be very pleasing,
perhaps you may make it convenient to come soon, together--
remember my respects to your parents and family--
Accept this scrawl from your sincere friend and cousin.
